This particular style is named the "Dolly" bag, for it's small, dinky shape, and slightly vintage styling.
Here, a striking and vibrant lilac and olive tartan, with subtle hints of mulberry, ochre and pale blue, is teamed with a gorgeous hot pink Italian lambskin leather for detailing...making this a fashion forward choice with a classic twist!
The pure wool tartan is beautifully hand woven and soft, yet robust. The handles and flap closure are made from the most luxurious, butter soft Italian leather, and these, combined with the dusky rose pink embroidered Irish linen lining, make a striking bag that could be used for both day and evening.
Measuring 7"x 11" and 4" deep at the base, the Dolly bag has a firm plastic base, and closes with a magnetic catch in the leather flap closure. The leather handles are approx. 16" long, so they have an opening of 7" from the top of the bag, to the top of the handle.
For some people, this handle opening is enough to slip over your shoulder and have the bag snug under your arm, but it was actually designed to hang nicely when carried in your hand, or, to continue the slightly vintage look, to be worn in the "crook" of your arm- over your elbow.
All my bags are entirely handmade by me in a smoke free, and pet free studio. They are double-stitched throughout, and triple stitched at any stress points. To keep their shape, they are all fully interfaced with ultra thick interfacing, and each comes packaged in its own protective cotton dust cover.
Every single bag we create is a one off design, never to be repeated in exactly the same way again. We love the creative challenge this affords us and knowing that each of our customers gets something totally unique to them!
